Louis Vuitton continues its journey in the Middle East with the official opening of the first store dedicated entirely to men’s and women’s shoes. Located in level shoe district, at The Dubai Mall, the store offers a wide collection of sophisticated eveningwear and chic daywear for both men and women in a range that has been especially chosen to reflect the fashion forward Dubai clientele.
The new store takes visitors on a journey through the heritage, history and savoir-faire of Louis Vuitton. Designed to recreate the intimate atmosphere of an elegant apartment by renowned architect Peter Marino, the architectural concept stays true to Louis Vuitton’s desire to make each visit to the store an exceptional journey. In a classical and refined setting, a large universe of shoes is presented for both men and women, elegantly sub-divided into harmonious areas. The store also houses a special trunk: the Secrétaire Chaussures Dames, which suggests a glamorous past of travel traditions. Inspired by a special order by Lily Pons in 1925, the trunk can hold from 18 to 36 pairs of shoes depending on the size. In 1949, Gaston Louis Vuitton recalled “Lily Pons ordered a desk trunk for shoes in 1925. Her feet were so small and slender that it was possible to store 36 pairs of shoes in a trunk intended for 30 pairs”. Synonymous with the Art of Travel since 1854, Louis Vuitton has a long-standing tradition of offering clients innovative ways of packing. The Secrétaire Chaussures Dames became the absolute symbol of Parisian chic and the requisite travel accessory of every Parisian Woman of its era.
Can’t wait to get my feet into that store!
