Last Sunday my girls and I went to GQ Bar at JW Marquis in Business Bay for their famous Sushi Sundays. I’m always looking for the new sushi places in Dubai so thought it would be worth a taste. What I really like about it is that the vibe is really cool and trendy, a perfect spot to go on a date or out with your girlfriends. Sushi Sundays are platters or Sushi with amazing cocktails. The dinner starts with two entrees that in this case were spicy edemame and prawn tempura accompanied with fried asparagus. The spicy edemame was good but a bit too spicy for my liking. The prawn tempura and fried asparagus was simply divine, best I’ve ever had. The sushi platter that came after was not only delicious but full of different creative and tasty options to choose from. One of my girls was a vegetarian and she was given a veggie-sushi platter which was according to her the best she had ever had. A definite hot-spot to go to ladies!
Yesterday I went to a Sephora event at Media One hotel and got to try to many awesome things! There was so much there that I plan on posting a lot to really give you guys my honest opinion on everything. First up is the Nail Textile, leather nails kit which I jumped on pretty much the second I had walked in. How cool it is to have leather nails?? It’s basically a sheet with leather nail stickers, pick the ones that best for the size of your nails, stick it on and cut the edges with nail scissors. Ok so the final look is seriously amazing. The feel is so leathery I’m in loooove. The downside would be that since it’s leather, you can’t file the edges and it’s hard to cut so it’s a struggle to put it on correctly.
Last Monday I had my first ever Khawla Roadha experience and I thought I would share. An event took place with the two lovely Emirati sisters where they showcased their new Spring Summer 2014 collection to media and socialites in the region at A4 gallery in Al Quoz.
The collection was full of pastels, inspired by macaroons and the infamous Emirati dirham, the collection was filled with must-haves. My personal must-have of the night was a wifebeater with the dirham, absolutely love it. I’ll be keeping a close eye on them, lots of great things coming their way I’m sure!
Today I went to the store opening party of the Alice + Olivia store in Mall of the Emirates and to be very honest, I had no expectations; boy was I wrong. The diva in me lite up when I saw the clothes, amazing!! The place was flooded with amazing food, amazing people and a brilliant violinist which I thought was cool considering that store openings in Dubai are usually all the same. Here are the two dresses I fell in love with:
On February 27, 2014, the media were a part of the fashion brand Lacoste’s celebration of its sports, and in particular, tennis heritage at the exclusive Lacoste Lounge at the Dubai Tennis Village, as a part of the brand’s engagement with the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships 2014.
The new campaign Life is a Beautiful Sport was launched with the official film, amidst celebrities that included Lacoste sponsored tennis players, including Alize Cornet, who stopped by to celebrate her successful win against Serena Williams and Roberto Batista Agut. The famous British pop-star Boy George was also seen at the lounge. Guests also enjoyed the vantage location of the Lacoste Lounge to watch the championship matches in progress.
The exclusive lounge was the perfect venue for displaying the Lacoste Spring/Summer 2014 collection alongside the entire runway film of the fashion show that was held recently at New York Fashion Week. The brand also provided a glimpse into its heritage through a collage of vintage images of its founder Rene Lacoste.
At the event, guests enjoyed mingling and taking pictures of the party with a #LIVEBEAUTIFULLY message to Lacoste. The delectable canapés and beverages as well as the chilled lounge music by Hotel Costes added to the chic and sporty ambience at the exclusive lounge.
Under the patronage of Her Royal Highness HRH Princess Haya Bint Al Hussein, wife of H.H Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the U.A.E & Ruler of Dubai, La Martina, the premium Argentinian fashion and lifestyle brand in association with the Embassy of Argentina to the UAE, are hosting the third La Martina Argentina Cup.
The Argentinian Embassy to the UAE and La Martina have been associated with this prestigious polo cup since its introduction in Dubai in 2011 and are dedicated to make this one of the most known annual event in Dubai’s sports calendar. “The Argentinian Embassy in association with Argentinian fashion brand La Martina, are proud to be able to provide the UAE a polo tournament of international caliber and are confident that with every year, more and more local and international teams will participate in this tournament”. His Excellency Ruben Eduardo Caro, Ambassador of the Republic of Argentina said. He added that, “”I am very proud to present the 6th edition of the Republic of Argentina Polo Cup, in association with La Martina. To play polo you need people and horses. Argentina has the best of both, and once more the UAE will be deeply connected with Argentina through its polo. I am sure we will enjoy very good polo with very good people.”
To celebrate an emphatic win of the Formula One Drivers’ and Constructors’ World Championships at the F1 Airtel Indian Grand Prix, Infiniti Red Bull Racing celebrated in style at one of the most recognized locations on earth.
Perched 210 meters above the sea, on a helipad 24 meters wide, Infiniti Red Bull Racing’s 750bhp F1 car usually reserved for on-track use became the first to ever run atop the Burj Al Arab helipad in a spectacular show of burning rubber and tire smoke and a stunning backdrop of the Arabian Gulf overlooking scenic views of Dubai’s impressive skyline.
Seconds after completing donuts in the car, David Coulthard stepped out of the cockpit and said: “That was a lot of fun. When Red Bull first suggested the idea to me I said ‘why not?’. I like getting involved with anything that pushes the boundaries and it’s what Red Bull stands for. I think this will produce fantastic, iconic shots in an amazing town and I’m really privileged to be part of it.”
Her Excellency Laila Mohammed Suhail, CEO of Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment, commented: “From Tiger Woods hitting golf balls from the helipad to Andre Agassi and Roger Federer playing tennis on it, images of the Burj Al Arab have gone around the world, increasing awareness of Dubai and evoking a desire to visit. There could be no better way to both celebrate Red Bull’s recent win of the Formula One World Championship and look forward to the inaugural Dubai Motor Festival. Once again, images of one of Dubai’s most iconic landmarks will capture the imaginations of future visitors.”
Piers Schreiber, Spokesperson for Jumeirah Group, said: “Burj Al Arab has hosted many extraordinary events on its helipad, but none as exhilarating as a Formula One car in full spin. Not only is the hotel the most photographed and the most talked about in the world, it will soon class as having the most filmed helipad as well.”
The evening was a star-studded event, as Ingie Chalhoub brought her luxury Etoile brand to the runway for two glamorous shows. Socialites, fashion-trendsetters and the ‘who’s who’ of Dubai were all there at Mall of the Emirates as it brought World of Fashion to a close.
Highlights of this year’s festival included appearances by international designers and artists such as luxury footwear designer Gianvito Rossi, Italian jeweler Robert Coin and famed Middle East make-up artist Bassam Fattouh. In between chic fashion shows by modern brands such as Tommy Hilfiger, DKNY and Bebe, a special World of Fashion Studio was set up to offer complimentary hair, beauty and nail treatments.
World of Fashion also debuted the Middle East launch of ‘Watch Hunger Stop’ charity campaign by Michael Kors, where for each watch sold – 100 meals will be provided to feed hungry children worldwide.
World of Fashion is a part of Eid in Dubai festivities.

This morning I had the privilege to go to N Style Nail Lounge in The Dubai Mall to meet the fantastic celebrity skincare guru and award winning, Deborah Mitchell, founder of Heaven Skincare. Before I tell you about my experience, I just want to tell you a bit about myself that I probably haven’t mentioned before – I am a do it yourself girl. I think last time I had a manicure was 5 years ago and it’s just because my friend dragged me, I only go to hair salons to cut my hair, I never get my makeup done and I’ve probably had 5 facials MAX in my whole life. Now that you know this, it’s fair to say that I’m not a huge fan of these places. One of the reasons why I don’t get facials often is that I always feel great when it’s being done (who doesn’t like a long overdue face massage?) but the second its over I always feel oily and horrible.
(Check out how cute this little therapy room is, you would never think you’re in N Style at the Dubai Mall)
Deborah Mitchell is not your everyday woman, she has this crazy energy that even though it we 9 AM, she put me in the best mood (I don’t do morning and definitely not without my large Starbucks cup). She is one of the most charismatic women I have ever met and the second she touched my face, I felt so peaceful and just knew straight away I was in great hands. She started off by feeling my energy and pointing out some things about myself that she felt and that I should work on changing as it affects my skin (such as sleep deprivation). Once she started with the facial, all the products seemed so light on my face which was the best part because I felt like the quality of each and every product was great and they all smelled lovely which is kind of rare for skincare let’s be honest.
Deborah’s signature product The Bee Venom Mask has developed a firm worldwide following including Kate Middleton, Dany Minogue, Victoria Beckham and many more. The Bee Venom is a revolutionary cream that works to control the facial muscles for immediate lifting, tightening and firming, whilst targeting frown lines and wrinkles. Using the product can provide a facial with a difference, completely natural, non-evasive and with real results.
Treatments such as the famous ‘The Bee Venom Mask’ and the ‘Angel Face Lift’ amongst a number of other treatments are now available across all NStyle Nail Lounge stores.
The search is over, this is it ladies. if you want to try it out before buying I suggest you go for a treatment at N Style and ask for these specific products from Heaven. The staff has been trained by Deborah herself.
