Last week, I went to Paris for some retail therapy with my best friend and went into the Kheil’s boutique on rue Saint Honore and purchased the Craig & Karl limited edition Calendula Herbal-Extract toner (alcohol-free) and Blemish Control daily skin-clearing treatment for problematic skin-types.
What I really liked about this is that the toner is organic and really has great effects on the skin. First of all, a common mistake for us 20-something girls is that we use strong alcoholic treatments for our faces which is more for teenagers. This product is simply amazing so ditch all the stuff you have at home and try this out, it really had an impact on me!!
Lolita Lempicka reminds me of high school where everyone had the purple one (catch my drift?). Recently, the brand has launched a new Elle L’Aime a la folie fragrance and I just had to blog about it. The fragrance is really pleasant for evening wear, with hints of mandarin, bergamot and jasmine. A definite must-have!
I recently tried the KISS gradation kit because there’s bin such a craze on nail art. I thought the kit was easy to use so it’s a great buy for any girl who wants to do her own nails. The shades of gold were a bit too yellow for my taste but it depends on your skin tone. The polish lasted a good amount of time and the pack comes in other color gradients like blues, pinks and blacks. A tip would be to finish it off with top coat (tested on the index finger)
Aspirational and mischievous, Eau Sucrée by Thierry Mugler is a delicious new interpretation of Angel, an olfactory candy, born of a whirlwind of tangy freshness and angelic delights. Appetizing, addictive and utterly desirable, its ingredients provoke contrasting effects with a profusion of taste sensations that echo each other: hot and cold, sweet and tangy, crisp and melt-in-the-mouth, fresh and sensual.
The bottle is so beautiful and made me reminisce and think of my high school days where I was so obsessed (me and every other girl) with Angel. This scent is quite close to it with a fruitier sweeter finish. YUMMY!
I recently tested the new Clarins Super Restorative Night Cream & Shaping Facial Lift Serum so I thought id do a quick write up about it. First of all, I really like Clarins moisturizers so I knew off the bat that the night cream would be great and it didn’t disappoint. The texture is smooth and non-sticky, overall a great feel on the skin. For the serum, I’m sure it does a fine job but my issue with Clarins serums is that they are a bit too sticky on the skin for my taste. Overall though, great value for money and am sure after longer application, great results too!
As Guerlain pointed out quite correctly, the ideal man is a myth…so instead they created the ideal fragrance! What I really like is that for the first time ever, Guerlain is using an almond note for men which sounds super interesting!! My favourite fragrance for men by Guerlain is Habit Rouge so can’t wait to get my claws on this one too.
Wohoo it’s Guerlain time! I just received 3 shades from the new Guerlain Le Rouge Creme Gablant lipsticks and got super excited because the packaging is amazing and the shades to die for. The 3 shades I got are 361 excessive rose, 300 golden girl and 325 rouge kiss. My favorite is the golden girl because it’s THE perfect nude!! The range is very soft with a bit of gloss to it. Something I really like is that it smells and taste amazing!!
Last Sunday my girls and I went to GQ Bar at JW Marquis in Business Bay for their famous Sushi Sundays. I’m always looking for the new sushi places in Dubai so thought it would be worth a taste. What I really like about it is that the vibe is really cool and trendy, a perfect spot to go on a date or out with your girlfriends. Sushi Sundays are platters or Sushi with amazing cocktails. The dinner starts with two entrees that in this case were spicy edemame and prawn tempura accompanied with fried asparagus. The spicy edemame was good but a bit too spicy for my liking. The prawn tempura and fried asparagus was simply divine, best I’ve ever had. The sushi platter that came after was not only delicious but full of different creative and tasty options to choose from. One of my girls was a vegetarian and she was given a veggie-sushi platter which was according to her the best she had ever had. A definite hot-spot to go to ladies!
