Lancaster’s Skin Therapy Perfect

Lancaster is the absolute must-have in summer for any girl who likes to soak up in the sun. The problem with tanning is that yes, you look much better tanned but it has negative short and long run effects on your skin. Lancaster has found a way to help you beat that with the launch of it’s new Skin Therapy Perfect collection.

Cinderella by MAC

behold, the Cinderella collection by MAC has finally arrived at my doorsteps and I dropped everything I was doing to check it out. Firstly, I thought the packaging was really attractive and cute, it’s worth getting a palette just to look at it and it’s very different from the usually dark packaging you see from them. The first thing I tested was the stroke of midnight palette which includes 6 shades (vapour, phloof!, omega, quarry satin taupe and stroke of midnight). I really liked the textures of this palette and the colors available at perfect for a total light to dramatic smoky eye. My favorite sides on the palette are omega and quarry satin taupe because it’s not sheer, giving you a perfect understated smokey. The pigmentation is pretty good but that was no shocker with MAC. Below you can see the swatch test on my hand.

The second product enchanted me (pun intended) a bit less because I don’t think I’m professional enough in makeup to use it. The studio eye gloss (shade lightly tauped) is really nice and bold but I wasn’t a fan of the texture, too sticky for my liking. Again though, I think it’s more for professional use than day to day where but if you’re looking to pop with eye glitter and shine, that’s a good fix and the color is gorgeous – hand swatch text below!

For those of you living in KSA, know that the product will be available for a limited time only starting end of March!

Christian Louboutin: nail polish

I recently got to test out these so sought-after nailpolishes from Christian Louboutin so thought I’d give my two cents on all the hype. First of all, they are beautiful. I know cosmetics shouldn’t be about packaging, but who are we kidding? These are by far the most beautiful nail polishes I have ever had and I’m displaying them in my living room! When it comes to the quality of the product, I must say that the quality of the liquid is quite good. The polish doesn’t dry very quickly but it’s decent, the color is thick and rich with the white shade only needing two coats for full application, honestly, a good product. My only comment on this is that the brush is quite thin meaning that for less experienced consumers, it might be a bit difficult to apply.

Natalie beauty salon : review

Just tested Natalie’s beauty salon (cluster V, JLT) and thought it was worth a post. So after a long weekend at the beach my nails barely survived and I had to go for an urgent mani pedi before work and came across this place thinking hey why not. Well here’s why not, forget a friendly hello, forget the standard “would you like something to drink” and all those other crazy norms . The place was so uncomfortable with the 2 (I think) salon owners laughing out loud and arguing ever second, disturbing the what I had hoped to be pleasant experience while cleaning and wiping the floors (yes because that’s what you do when you have customers) The silver lining though was the adorable Madelyn who at more than one occasion shushed them, yes, shushed them and did a fabulous job on my nails. If you are to ever go there, which I recommend you don’t, she’s definitely your girl!

Roberto Cavalli : Paradiso

Yesterday I was one of a few lucky bloggers to meet the amazing people behind the new Roberto Cavalli fragrance, Paradiso. I got the chance to sit with the perfumer behind the fragrance, an amazing British woman living in Paris called Louise Turner who took 2 years to create this unique scent. Paradiso is a floral – woody fragrance of the Mediterranean with heavenly bouquet that opens with citrus notes of bergamot and mandarin, blending with the floral heart of jasmine. I really like the dominant jasmine note as I found it to be very unique for the Cavalli house. Paradiso is really a WOW fragrance.

The fragrance will be available at all major retailers from February 15 onwards

Just received the new red lipstick shade from Make Up For Ever called Rouge Artist Intense 52. A really great lippy with good pigmentation. Personally, I’m way more into the matte trend but for you glossy girls, this is a great one to have!

Wow by Wojooh: Raw Sugar

I’ve recently tried the new breathable nail polish from Wow by Wojooh, Wojooh’s new makeup line and absolutely fell in love. I especially love the concept where the texture is airy. Basically it’s simple, air and water can penetrate the nail through the polish which is great for healthy nails and for some, prayer! Really a great line, the shade I’m wearing is called Raw Sugar!
